I think a more interesting question is how does this square with the image she's tried to portray for herself in the diaries and other interviews. She comes off as shy and maybe lacking in self-confidence ("I'm such a bad singer" and things to that effect) yet, is this?

I spoke with vanity who runs the Japanese ayaka fansite and I mentioned to him how all the other senshi seem to have distinct personalities from the diaries and other interviews, while I couldn't think of one for her. Not from the Japanese magazines I've seen. This is fairly normal I think. What's odd is that the PGSM producers are allowing it. I think most shows for kids (in the US at least) have clauses saying the actresses can't do provocative shoots and such.
