I never really thought about it, but the tiara throwing thing especially makes me want to believe it's true.

There apparently is one in development (not Joss Whedon's, but apparently a rough release date is out for one). She's also set to appear in the upcoming Justice League movie IIRC (which'll likely be out in 2014).

Wonder Woman is a favorite character of mine too. I REALLY hope they give her her own animated series (preferably set in the DCAU). At least they gave her her own movie. She really is an underrated character. As a feminist, it would be awesome for a female action hero to be popular with both boys and girls (for the right reasons, not just to look at).

A Justice League movie is actually happening? There are no Flash or Aquaman movies (and really who gives a shit about Aquaman), Wonder Woman seems to be having trouble taking off, and the Green Lantern movie was terrible...Batman is the only good thing DC has going for it right now.

I mean I can see where they would think a Justice League movie might work considering how well The Avengers is doing, but at the same time it's not The Avengers. It hasn't had the lead up of many successful individual character movies. I would probably not care about a Justice League movie unless DC gets their shit together and puts out some better movies leading up to it.

Would a Justice League movie use the Nolan Batman?

It's too bad Green Lantern wasn't good. I really liked Ryan Reynolds, but he couldn't defeat the script and SFX problems... I bet that movie was an attempt to lead up to Justice League but it doesn't look likely unless they start over.

^If they didn't use Christian Bale as Batman for JL, that would be the most disappointing thing about it probably.

I like Ryan Reynolds too, nothing against him, just yeah...what you said.

I just noticed there's a new Superman movie coming out next year which I had no idea about...and Christopher Nolan is working on it...well OK then. XD

Christopher Nolan did speak out about a Justice League movie, and it's unlikely that he'll be involved, but you never know. I did hear that a Justice League movie might not use the same actors as recent DC movies. I would want a Justice League movie to be similar to the cartoon (Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Flash, Green Lantern/John Stewart, Hawk Girl, and Martian Manhunter), since it's the most well known version overall outside comic book fandom (heck, it was my ONLY exposure to JL until I took advantage of the DC comics reboot, and explored some of the recent animated movies). But yeah, Marvel's strategy with The Avengers was very good. There are new Superman and Batman movies coming out (with Wonder Woman and Flash movies in development) to keep interest in Justice League high.

It reminds me of the old live-action Sailor Moon movie in development with Geena Davis as Queen Beryl. :P A live action Sailor Moon would likely look like Wonder Woman!

I almost feel bad for saying I wouldn't watch a JL movie now. Not only is Christopher Nolan working on the new Superman, but the director of Watchmen is directing it. I hope it doesn't turn out too grimdark for Superman, but still...

If a live action Sailor Moon was ever made for the western audience, I'm really not sure what Sailor Moon would look like. Very different I imagine, as many women have this stigma against anything too sexy on a female...even though most of the male super heroes are running around in skin tight spandex suits and every woman watching the movie is thinking about having sex with them. Sucker Punch tried to do the sailor look and as far as I know it was not well received by women. :/

Kinda reminds me of what a guy I listen to on the radio said about Twilight. If you reversed it and had a half naked vampire chick and half naked werewolf chick, it would be a horrible abomination, and any guy going to see it would be seen as some kind of sick perverted freak. But it's A-OK to have a couple of under 18 guys rip their shirts off, and there's nothing wrong with women who go see it.

A live action sailor moon movie would get the same crap, if they wore the uniforms they wear normally, or any kind of variation, that doesn't make them look 100% fully clothed. It's really hypocritical and stupid, but that's how it would work.

I wouldn't mind seeing a dark Superman movie, tho - I always like any new perspectives on old stuff. :)

Now I'd like to see a crossover show of Wonder Woman & Sailor Moon. :D

I'd prefer a CGI of Justice League movie.

Justice League won't be out by 2014. They need their new Superman movie out. They need to reboot Batman to make him more Justice League friendly. They need a second Green Lantern movie, and at least one of the other members (Flash, Aquaman, Martian Manhunter?). Then they need to make a Wonder Woman movie (though according to the DC higher-ups, there is not one currently in development; both of the scripts they had were vetoed). So, it does not bode well for Diana.

This is exactly the problem with the JL movie and why it's been put on the back-burner. DC's flaw with the movies is that they have no sense of coherency. No one is going to get into a Justice League movie where we're having to sit through the origins of every character. So they need to fix their cinematic universe to start setting up a JL movie. And they don't have the same problem Marvel had; all of their movies are made by DC.

The Batman movies are good. However, Nolan's Batman would not lend itself well to a giant team-up movie. Therefore, DC has stated after The Dark Knight Rises, they're planning on a soft reboot to the Batman movies. Not wiping out Nolan's movies, but making the character and the universe more accessible.

Also, lots of people like Aquaman now. When they rebooted the universe last year, Aquaman's book ended up being damned good.

No, JL would not use Nolan's Batman. As for GL, they wouldn't really need to start over. Just make a second movie that's actually good. I had three major problems with GL: One, they pulled a Spider-Man 3/X-Men 3 and had way more villains than there should have been. Two, the ridiculous CG suits. I hated them. Three, the entire script/story was stupid.

Well, that's true, though the new Superman movie WILL be out in about a year (as in, it DOES have a concrete release date, and production is wrapping up). I can understand about Batman. If they do a new Wonder Woman movie, I hope it's like the recent comic books, which are some of the best I've ever looked at. I agree that they should maybe do a new Green Lantern movie, but not a full reboot (hopefully with Ryan Reynolds still playing the lead). If they do reboot it, hopefully, it'll be with John Stewart, the Green Lantern I'm most used to.

For the record, I don't think DC is going in the same direction as Marvel, and that's probably a good thing.

Wouldnt be surprised if really much wonder woman or She-Ra had any influence in the design of SM in general alot of concepts could have been done with it.It does have its similar traits and who knows Naoko could have seen some of Wonder Woman during her years and decide it lol

as for a JL movie they would really need to make it good as heck seeing how great The Avengers movie is they kinda set the bar high for a team of super heroes

Anything's possible, Venus Love Me Chain may have even been inspired by the Lasso of Truth. Obviously, it would be a very minor inspiration but still.

You could probably compare Sailormoon to all female superheroes.

1941, darling. 1941.

Ironically, the very year that Japan brought the U.S. into WWII.

It's possible considering the similarities in the two outfits, but it's undeniable that Sailor Moon's biggest influence was Super Sentai. One of the big reasons why Sailor Moon was brought to the United States was to compete with the Power Rangers.

Even the sentai genre itself has also got Western influences on it, tho. :)

True, but you could say the same thing in return. Other series besides the Power Rangers such as The Power Puff Girls and TMNT have Japanese influences as well. I guess Sentai and related genres were like a universal thing where the world took a look at them and was like, "Yeah, this is a good idea."

That "reversed influence" has occurred only after that very 1st sentai show in the 70s, which was influenced by various Western pop cultural elements at the time, including, literally, Western, :P
