I admit I don't really like anime & comics that much but when I found out there was a specific chart just for manga I was very fascinated. I always like charts because it's very interesting to see what sells well and what doesn't. In this thread I will archive Sailor Moon's position on this chart.

I enjoy having all of this info in one spot as you did, and thank you for putting the time to do so. I do have a suggestion to help, in that I think if you account for the weeks where the books were not on the chart in your week numbers, it would be easier to draw comparisons to how each volume sold in their release windows. For example, you have SM V1 up to week 6 with no interruption, a mention of a two week hiatus, but start the week number at 7. I think if you adjusted that to 9 and the rest of the charts accordingly, it would be better statistically. Just throwing it out there.

I'm going to update this list the next time the chart is published which I think is today, but I'm wondering. Would you guys like every release week to be one long consecutive timeline? Like say week 6 of Sailor Moon vol 1 is week 1 of SM vol 2, but I write both weeks as week 6?

Where is this person?! This thing should have been updated a long time ago. xD

It's fascinating to see how popular the manga is - and I know it's not any indication of whether the anime will be brought back but I hope it does. As much as I love Sailor Moon, I'm very hesitant about buying the DVDs straight from Japan when I hardly know the language. And I don't have a job right now so... just looking at the prices on YESASIA, I feel like I'm about to have a panic attack.

The numbers for the manga have been incredible. Just goes to show how vast the "Sailor Moon" fanbase is. I mean, there's been virtually no promo for the manga re-release, right? The anime hasn't been on Western TV for years, there's no current re-dub airing for cross promotion, etc.

The numbers and chart positions do not lie! :tongue:
