You and me might get along....

I came across this forum by accident and couldn't pass up the chance to join a Sailor Moon forum. I missed out on all the old ones growing up and when I finally found them, they died.

Sailor Moon is my very first anime that I've stayed loyal to since I was 6 years old(I'm almost 23 now). I watched the terrible dub first(but I grudgingly acknowledge that it's what got me into SM. I even watch for nostalgia sometimes) until I finally saw the original when I was 13. Sailor Moon has a special place in my heart and I'm looking forward to the new dub. I might now being able to enjoy SM both dubbed and subbed for once(I'm neutral in the pointless dub vs sub war that the anime community won't let go).

This currently the only anime forum I'm a member of right now and I would like for it to be one I can stay in for once. I've had too many bad experiences at other forums that made swear them off for a while, but like I said, I just couldn't pass up the chance at a Sailor Moon forum. I've seen a lot of anime, but I've never been such a huge otaku about them like I have been for Sailor Moon. My best knowledge of SM is the anime, some of the manga, and only a hand full of PGSM(I tried, but it was too much like Power Rangers for me to sit through).

Wrong! Things just got really crazy, really fast my way and I couldn't manage to get over here no matter how hard I tried.

anyways im william, im a bit of a neo-moonie. first watched it (dubbed) on the internet in about '07 (when i got my first modern laptop) and in japanese about a year later. plus other anime series.

i like japanese, im sorta trying to get my head around it.
i also like minecraft.
crash team racing is real fun too, i like messing with the CPU characters in arcade mode (i pwn in that game, watch out if your behind me, i might chuck a bowling bomb backwards at you ).

i also like messing with computers, a little bit of programming and tinkering with electrics.

I started watching Sailor Moon in the late 90s. It was some sort of marathon on TV when I lived in Utah. Not sure what year though... it was either '98 or '99. Anyway, been a huge fan since then. I was probably 7 or 8 years old at the time. I bought about 4-5 of the original manga that were printed back then... totally random ones. I had no idea that they were supposed to be in black & white back then and I colored in some of them haha. They got completely ruined of course.

So I was happy to find out that they were being brought back to the U.S. a while ago. Already got the first volume of Sailor Moon and just ordered Sailor V, Vol 1 yesterday. I'm not really swimming in pools of cash so it'll take me a while to get all of them. Plus I have other 'fandoms' that I spend my money on too.

Anyway, that's pretty much it. Anything non-Sailor Moon~ish is in my profile.

@Prince Rose Sounds about right... maybe. I have an awful memory so it's a miracle that I even remembered some sort of time frame.

Oh I also forgot to mention that I bought some episodes on VHS too. I think it was the first few episodes of SailorS. Makes me feel old and I'm barely in my 20s. /sigh/

I have VHS of S and SuperS along with season one plus the ali-en eps of the dub as seen on toonami
but I also have all 5 seasons in japanese on dvd

Cool. Yeah, I'm pretty sure if I had never watched that marathon back then I wouldn't be where I am today. My life has pretty much revolved around Asian entertainment since then.

Which cartoons? I'm pretty sure I watched cartoons like that too when I was younger... pretty much anything that's shown on Boomerang nowadays. I used to live with a guy who would go on and on about how cartoons 'back in his day' were better than the crud kids watch these days.

Wow, yeah, I never got that many VHS tapes. Just a single one. ><' The only series my parents ever bought for me and my brothers on VHS was Pokémon. I watched those tapes so many times that I still remember the dialogue.

How much did the DVDs cost you? I've always hated how expensive everything from Japan is, so...

well Season one and two cost me somewhere between $40-$50 my cousin got me a deal back in 2004/2006, might be a different case nowadays
S through Stars my cousin downloaded and burned it to dvd's for me [it helped that he was a fan]
