Genvid & Dies Gaudii Forums

Hello all. I apologize for my absence lately, I have been spending time on other things in my life outside of work which currently takes precedence over things here. I'm not sure when I'll be active again, but that is not the point of this post.

On Tuesday, March 13th, sometime after midnight EST (Monday night if that's how some of you want to look at it), the forums will be down for a short period of time. A second hard drive is going to be added to the server, which requires for me to turn off the physical machine to add this in. I will disable the forums before the shutdown so there won't be any posts lost, and re-enable them after the necessary work is done for this new drive. I don't anticipate this to be too long, assuming a half hour tops but we'll see. Just wanted to give y'all a heads up so there's no big surprise in a few nights. Thank you for your understanding and patience.

Last time was seemingly unplanned, though generally known the move was going to happen at some point. This time it's planned, announced nearly a week in advance, and will have minimal effect here. Chill out.

The load was actually lower than I expected as the new drive is being formatted, so I've turned the forums back on earlier than I had planned. There may or may not be slowdowns as I set up other things (re: migrate some data between the two drives), but nothing drastic. No more downtime will occur, thank you for your patience for the 10 - 15 minutes that we were actually turned off for.
