Me, I'd want to see Zoe Saldana as Pluto, Uma Thurman as Uranus, Kirsten Dunst as Venus and Winona Ryder as Neptune.

Not sure who I'd like for the others though... maybe Christian Bale as Mamoru

i've read somewhere a list of a possible cast, and on that list, they mentioned eva green as michiru and ellen page as hotaru. never thought about it until i read that, and it kind of makes sense to me...
on a completely personal fetish note, i can totally see ruta gedmintas as haruka (but agian, too old to play her)

i think that's the one and only reason i'm not sure i would like a movie to be made. depending on who plays who, it could totally kill the characters (and my love for them) for me...

Taylor Swift as Michiru/ Sailor Neptune... Taylor is the right age wise as she could play a high school or young adult... she can play musical instrument and sings... she is mature for her age and is elegant.. Taylor would make a good Michiru.!

Not sure if she can act though...I'll stick with Winona, late 80's that is.

She can act, and play guitar, piano, and banjo.. i'm sure she could learn villion.. only bad side to it is Taylor swift is a tall Girl... 5' 11" and being 22 taylor can still pass off a high school girl or play a young adult

I already posted a list like this in reply to another topic - although I'm not sure that anyone cared for it, because no one responded. lol. Nevertheless, these are my picks:



Cariba Heine [picture] as Sailor Moon: An Australian actress. I've only seen her in H20: Just Add Water, but I think she could pull off Usagi.

Emily Browning [picture] as Sailor Mercury: Her facial features have a sort of sweet/soft/cute appearance that reminds me of Ami. I'm not overly familiar with her work, though.

Chiaki Kuriyama [picture] as Sailor Mars: I've only seen her in Kill Bill. I'm not entirely convinced of this choice, to be honest, but she does have the perfect look.

Summer Glau [picture/video] as Sailor Jupiter: As a former ballerina, Summer is quite graceful and athletic. She does extremely well in action scenes, which would give Makoto a chance to show off some of her martial arts skills. :p She also has a sort of down-to-earth, laid-back air to her that I think would work with the character.

Amanda Seyfried [picture/video] as Sailor Venus: Amanda is gorgeous, and in my opinion, she has the perfect hair for Minako. I first saw her play Lilly Kane in Veronica Mars. She could bring out both the fun/playful and serious side of Minako perfectly.

Freida Pinto [picture] as Sailor Pluto: I've only seen her in Slumdog Millionaire, but I think she would make a lovely Setsuna.

Adrianne Palicki [picture] as Sailor Uranus: I've only seen her in Supernatural. She's also playing the title character in the upcoming film, Wonder Woman. I think she has the right look, at least, and I think she could probably play Haruka well.

Dianna Agron [picture] as Sailor Neptune: She comes across as quite elegant, and she has the perfect look. She can pull off both sweet/vulnerable and aggressive/cold very well, which is necessary for this character.

Joey King [picture/video] as Sailor Saturn: She's the appropriate age and she has a fitting appearance. The actress herself is much more energetic and outgoing than Hotaru, but I'm sure she could tone it down if she were playing the character. :p

Aryana Engineer [picture/video] as Sailor Chibimoon: This girl is so cute, and I think she could pull of Chibiusa very well.

Minako - Meaghan Martin
Usagi - Anna Faris
Makoto - Kristen Stewart
Ami - Rachel Bilson
Mamoru - Kevin Zegers

I didn't just pick these because of their good looks lmao, I picked them because they match their personality too like Anna would make a brilliant and amusing Usagi with her awkward comedy
Olivia is stubborn, cool, slick & firm much like Rei.
K-Stew is very tomboyish, never smiles, instead, she smirks, she's also very serious and emotional, she'd be good for Mako.

Oh Noni is fine but a tad to old to be a late-teen Neptune.

Could Cariba Heine play crybaby Usagi? She's got the looks but I gotta see her odangoes first

I agree with celestialocean's choices except for Saturn.

Hm.. another choice of mine for Saturn would be Chloë Moretz. At fifteen, she's only a bit older than Hotaru is in the Infinity Arc/Sailor Moon S. She has blonde hair, but of course that could be altered easily enough for a role. It would be a little disappointing to let her grace and athleticism go to waste, but her acting skills alone are quite good. I have the feeling that she could play nearly any role very well.

I'm not familiar with Emilia Clarke's work, but she looks like she would make a lovely Usagi. She has a sort of innocent look to her that I think would suit the character.

I would have to say that it would be difficult to pick just the right people to play the characters. Careful research about the characters must be done,and try-outs would have to be held to find just the right person to play a certain character. For instance-one would not just plop Rosie O' Donnell into the role of Serena's mother, or just slap Jim Carrey into the role of Wise Man. It takes careful research and study to cast people into certain roles. Take the voice of Shenzi the hyena in "Lion King" for example-the voice of Whoopi Goldberg fit the character of Shenzi very well. If Disney had of cast Oprah Winfrey or Miley Cyrus as Shenzi,then the hyena would not come off as truly sneaky or evil. Whether the real people are Japanese or American, it would take just the right person to portray a Sailor Moon character. As for me,I do't know ANY American celebrities who could be convincing as Sailor Moon charactrers.

Not convincing, just for fun... my idea for this thread was originally a photoplasty contest with putting those actors in sailor suits

In all seriousness Emilia Clarke would be my first choice for the leading role.

@HarukaMichiru: I don't think the topic is meant to be taken too seriously. Naturally, if there were ever actually a live action American version of Sailor Moon, much more consideration would need to go into casting.
