Sonic beat a ton of god-like beings, and he can also stop time. And the Silver Crystal can only affect evil beings, iirc.

You remember incorrectly. And Sonic only beats God-like beings due to plot induced stupidity, or because Sally Acorn pulls his fat out of the fryer. He's not like the Doctor, who can actually beat monsters by thinking three steps ahead, and a lot of techno-babble. Sonic is pretty much an idiot who goes in heads first and doesn't think through the consequences. He's not that impressive.

But Super Sonic is invincible. Besides, Nehelenia isn't as powerful as Enerjak or some of the other beings Sonic's faced.

Super Sonic isn't invincible other than in gameplay. Plus, several of SM villains are stronger than Enerjack and other beings in Sonic's verse. Mammoth Mogul vs Metallia would equate in Metallia's favor.

It was a rhetorical example. Seriously, though, Sonic alone vs SM villains winds up with him dying. Badly. Amongst all the Sonic characters, Sonic isn't the greatest, he's just the title character. Hell, Tails is supposed to be stronger than Sonic.
