German Sailor Moon CDs

Hello moonies!
We want to buy German Sailor Moon CDs, rip them in lossless quality (WAV) and share them with the whole community.
The CDs will be ripped in multiple formats (wav, flac, iso, mp3, m4a).

We need to raise $200 to buy 35-40 CDs. That's a pretty good deal, especially concidering that these CDs are out of print and hard to find.

Not to rain on your parade, but I hope you're aware that, for later albums at least, the Sailor Moon related songs are in the minority and there's a lot of filler tracks by pop music artists of the time such as the Backstreet Boys. ^_^'

That being said, while I can't donate due to my lousy financial situation at the moment, I happen to own the Sailor Moon: Dancing on the Moon album and could have that ripped to your specifications if you want.

Ripping these into WAV files is impractical.
The best you could do is CD quality MP3 44.1Khz at 320kbps. It's not like you can actually hear the difference anyway.

If you could rip it for us, that would be great! Yeah, I know about filler songs but the german CDs also have remixes of the songs from the dub, japanese songs and german versions. Besides there are also SM German Radio plays.

Mp3 is not even close to CD quality. It's a lossy format. But I will still rip the CDs in multiple formats (including mp3).
I have experience ripping CDs, I have all kind of software I know the settings (the settings depend on the condition of the CD) and I will do it correctly. The common mistake is when people rip the CD in one format and then convert it to another. As a result we get fake flac files. I mean if you covert mp3 to flac, the quality doesn't get better. You can see that if you look at the spectrum. I will do everything right.

Well, I'm ripping it as we speak...uh, type. I'm converting them to WAV format, which I assume should be ideal for you to work with. It's 724 MB in size, though, so this might take a while to upload/download. ^_^'

In any case, Kaorinite, the CD's been uploaded and I've sent you the URL. If you have any problems accessing them, contact Elly, MarioKnight, or me. Otherwise, be prepared for a lot of late 90s pop music and German techno dance music.

I didn't actually watch the transfers, else I would've identified the files. =P I just saw you logged in the SFTP is all.

However, I hate to burst your bubble, but the folder you uploaded them to is not viewable from the web. Hell, it's technically not even on the same hard drive as your website files and database. ;p I'll copy the folder elsewhere on the server and send her a working link tomorrow when I'm back in the office, I don't really want to watch a decent sized folder copy when I've just gotten home to go to bed.

Today I purchased 7 CDs. They will be shipped from Germany in a couple of days and when the parcel arrives, I'll rip them ASAP.

I just dumped them into the same folder as I did the other stuff I uploaded for Elly (like the English dub transcripts, Alex Glover's manga translations, and everything from Annapuma's Script Crypt), but forgot that not everyone has access to them like you do. And sending Kaorinite that link would be appreciated, thanks.

By the way, Kaorinite, are you also going to scan the CD sleeves, inserts, and extras that come with the CDs?
