How do you like your pairings served?

Here we talk about the differences between the forms of a particular pairing and how you like it best.

For example, Hotaru/Chibiusa. It's commonly seen as a typical yuri & loli pairing, but I like it better when it has only some important characteristics from a yuri relationship: it'd feel more like a fleeting encounter than a mature, full-fledged adult relationship with strong (and possibly lasting) emotions. It feels more natural and suitable to the couple to think that they'd just quietly and shyly feel slight attraction to each other in a non-sexual but not quite friendly way, either, without ever getting to express those feelings. When it comes to a real, lesbian relationship, I prefer Black Lady and Mistress 9, even though its canonically impossible pairing. (Supposedly.)

I agree with your views on HxC and I think BLxM9 would be better for an actual mature yuri pairing.

I am a big fan of Makoto x Ami. I find it to be a very cute pairing and I think those two go together perfectly! I think Makoto would be the more confident one in the relationship, while Ami the shy one, rather obviously. Makoto would probably make the first steps in the relationship. I don't like this ship handled too violently. I like soft erotica of Makoto x Ami, but not something hardcore :/ I like this ship taken more gently.

I don't think much about hetero or yaoi pairings, so I'll exclude that from my post ^.^

MakoAmi doesn't leave much space for alternate interpretations, but then again, we don' need them.

(Unless Ami is a psychopathic sadist D: ) Even if they're not anything like Mistress and the Lady, they're something between a real-life lesbian relationship and an imaginary yuri-shipping - imagining them in various real-life situations feels natural, but they have a certain fluff to them that makes them (after all and sadly

Sometimes the relationship could be very subtle, murky &/or flip-flopping, so that you can't definitely tell one way or another.
