Need both critique and feedback. Been working on this in the last 2 months. Its not easy being a perfectionist. You just don't want to finish what you've started especially knowing you its not going to look right.

Image

Biggest problem I have are the straps on the shoes. They kind of limit the optical illusion to make it more eye pleasing. The company that draw them was Angel and I just hate it when they draw. Almost all of them look flat especially when I'm converting them to arcade style. I need another color for that I guess. I might as well get rid of them. I don't really think its a big deal to keep those straps but what do you guys think?

I'll also need donations. Just PM me if you're interested in helping.

Thanks Alex for the notice. Hello rgveda99 these sprites are impressive, what would be good is to clarify a little about their colors so that they resemble more the game pretty soldier sailor moon 2d and would be perfect =^_^=

Need critique and feedback. Do you get that KOF vibe when seeing this?

This was tough even with Shinausagi's help. Mixing Vice and Mai's running leg animation is a bad thing as it makes the running animation look choppy so instead of having 6 frames of animation I had to add 2 more. I'm never gonna mix and match running frames again.

I could have gone with Yung Mie's running animation with only 3 frames but I want to have my :haruka: to have that King of Fighters flair. I don't want any akward looking or average poses.

This is just a preview and not final yet.
Image
Can anyone make a gif that animates faster?

Will work on the skirt a little more as it needs to follow the flow of the leg that's flexed.

I'm kind of thinking making the upper body move just a little but Vice or Mai don't need one. What do you guys think?

Sounds like a good idea. I sort of did it with the gif above by moving a bit up and down but the good way would be to edit the sprites accordingly.
As for Mai, she doesn't need that because players easily notices something else bouncing

It looks different when animated faster. I don't notice the badly shaded leg in one frame.

I feel sorry for those Dead Or Alive girls as they were all forced to have a breast reduction.

BTW, did you buy that new Gamemaker for professionals?

That and lot of other stuff. I liked, an still like, the DoA series but nowadays it's hard to have women in a game without a lot of -jolly- going around because of insecure people seeing pedophilia everywhere.

rgveda99 wrote:

No. Don't plan to buy it either. By the time I was using XNA, I also learned Unity/Blender and stuff and I'd rather use something like that. More powerful and less restrictive than GM.

I think you should blame its horny producer for that.

Even the professional edition had resource problems?

I don't mind the ridiculous large breasts mechanism on DoA. In fact, THIS was a part of the DoA games. Suppressing that stuff more and more is just stupid, but then again they probably want to target a large public.
I just find it stupid that people get mad at horny developers for being, well, horny (Duh, I'm a male and I love breasts, what's wrong with that?). It's not even a hentai, just a fighting game with lots of bouncing mechanism, I don't understand why people get mad over this.

rgveda99 wrote:

No. But for example, once you know how to do something in GM, there's no need to go back to RPG Maker 2000, something like that.
Hmm, still, for 2D I guess that GM -should- be better. I just have more fun doing 3D, or 2D with 3D. Though I haven't been coding for ages now since I still need to find the motivation 2learn2art TM. Not happening anytime soon to be honest, when you hate something you just hate it.

It was actually an executive producer's stupidity that made him lose full control on the franchise. But it gave us PS3 owner's an opportunity to own and play the game.

Though if they wanted more money they should have breast enlargement DLC.
