It didn't dawn on me till I had another look at Wiki!
Emilie Barlow voiced Mina/Sailor Venus in season 3-4 and Raye/Sailor Mars in a majority of the R season. I had no idea of this. I certainly can't see the change of Raye's voice at all and also I noticed no similarity to Mina's voice for this reason. I can't see the change of Darien/Tuxedo Mask's voice in his second and third voice at all either. Am I the only one on this?


These are their SECOND voices in the dub. So my question is, why didn't they get someone else? Instead of making her do two sailors? I don't know what she has done for her career, because unfortunately she has no Wiki page!

Raye's temporary substitute in Season 2 (for 17 episodes) went on to be the permanent voice of Mina in Seasons 3-4. Her name is Emilie Barlow. Her other claim to fame is voicing Courtney in Total Drama Island.

From the second to third voice actors for Darien, Toby Proctor and Vince Carazzo (sp?), the voice work of Darien is pretty close, the only way I could tell them apart was that Vince is a bit softer in his delivery, where as Tony's voice seemed a bit....I dunno, more sharp?

The big give away however is when Darien is Tuxedo Mask, for some odd reason Vince put an annoying heroic flair in his speech delivery. It drove me up the wall the first time I heard it. (still does to be honest).

Vince was the best Darien/Tuxedo Mask. He sounded the most natural as Darien and more powerful as Tuxedo Mask. Toby sounded obnoxious, and was a pretty bad actor too. Rino was alright, especially as Tuxedo Mask, but his Darien was pretty weak. I'm sure he would've gotten better if he stayed aboard longer.

When I think about it, I think I prefer Vince most because I loved the person who voiced him in the movies and that is him. I thought he sounded a bit rough in the last two seasons when I think about it more.

It was the voice direction that nabbed the last two seasons. There were many talented VAs who's performances really suffered as a result of bad voice direction and rushed production scheduling. According to Linda Ballantyne, they basically recorded each line twice, and went with the better one! Though I do have a problem with Vince Corazza's "My Love!" in the R movie towards the end. It was one of the worst delivered lines in the whole movie. Though Vince was usually awesome, so I can forgive him!

As for WHY Emile Barlow voiced both Mars and Venus at different points, Katie Griffin (the main voice of Mars) was away shooting a movie, during production of the last 17 episodes of R (which were produced after a long hiatus), and Emile Barlow filled in while Griffin was away. When production resumed on the three films, Katie Griffin returned to reprise her role. When production came back from an even longer hiatus for S and SuperS, Optimum Productions was contacted by Stephanie Morgenstern (the voice of Sailor Venus)'s agents, who said that she had moved on to more on-camera acting, was no longer participating in voice acting, and would turn down the opportunity to reprise her role. They subsequently held open auditions, and Emile Barlow successfully auditioned and became Morgenstern's permanent replacement for Sailor Venus. She was obviously no-longer voicing Sailor Mars at that point (Katie Griffin reprised that role for both seasons), so it wouldn't seem as noticeable.

Stephanie Morganstern voiced the main character Regina in both games plus she also voiced Ayame in the Power Stone anime so her "hiatus" from voice acting sure didn't last long.

This reminds me of a horrible audio file I made years ago where I spliced together snippets from Resident Evil 3: Nemesis and Dino Crisis to make it look like Alan/Darien/Tuxedo Mask was trying to pick up Mina/Sailor Venus.

Haha, it was using that clip with Carlos (voiced by Vince Corraza) at the diner right? I thought him trying to hook up with Jill was hilarious myself.

It was by using a bunch of audio clips from different points in both games.

Darien: "Hey there, sexy lady."
Mina: "You again? Persistent thing, aren't you?"
Darien: "All the sexy ladies love my accent. It drives them crazy."
Mina: "Uh...yeah, I can see that."
Darien: "Shut up."

And so on and so forth.

Funny how you mention Resident Evil 3 really. Because Catherine Disher (Mimet) voiced Jill Valentine for only that game.
