Being that the same email address is seen in the From field for all the user activation emails, I personally fail to see the problem. Plus, that subject line is the default for all phpBB forums, which is one of the most widely used forum software across the net. Changing the email address would make no difference given the logic behind not opening the message based on "being scared" of the subject line. And "doing research" is as simple as opening the message, it's not like there's a shortage of mail programs with built-in protection, nor is there a shortage of anti-virus programs to double-up the work. Simple logic dictates if you've just signed up for a forum, and are constantly getting PMs alongside with new emails at a similar rate, that maybe the two go hand in hand?

I know my post seems insulting and demeaning, but simple logic and common sense (especially when events are triggered by decisions one makes themselves) need to be put to place a whole hell of a lot more then they are (everywhere, not just here).

I did find out by myself what it is not long after, but not before I'd deleted several PM notification emails (my a/c activation email has Mara's full name shown).

What does this mean:
User is inactive
Reason: Profile details changed

Somebody changed their email to a fake one. Most probably that person left the forums for good and faked their email to block any possible forum notifications.
